My dear Miss Balch
I had a letter from your sec'y this morning suggesting that I write you at Detroit. I see by the N.Y. Times that the Bergensfjord gets in next Saturday. I will write Mde Schwimmer at the boat suggesting that she come directly up here if you can be here at [page 2] that time. Of course there are all sorts of probabilities that the boat may be delayed -- isn't it an astounding journey for her to make!
I do hope you had a satisfactory time with Mr Ford. Your last letter from Stockholm came the other day -- to my great pleasure. Always devotedly yours Jane Addams
