My dear Mrs Dewey

It is very kind in you to remember my hopes of some day attending one of the Lake Placid conferences which have always seemed to me to be [all?] [illegible] for gatherings which really confer. I am so sorry to be "full up" with engagements for that week, two commencements, and one Chautauqua address. May I tell you how pleased I am that you wanted me to come and may I express my thanks as well as my regrets to Mr Dewey and yourself.

Faithfully yours Jane Addams

May 26" 1905.
