Oct. 10th, 1906,

Miss Jane Addams,
Pres. Hull House,
335 S. Halsted St., City,

Dear Miss Addams:-

Our Mr. Lederer recently called on you in regard to filing objections to the proposed widening of Halsted Street. At that time you had not made up your mind as to what position you would take in the matter. Inasmuch as the time for filing objections is getting very short, we take the liberty of calling your attention to the fact that the frontage of Hull House property does not appear in our list of objectors. We now represent almost nine thousand feet of frontage. The law requires a majority of the frontage to be filed against the proposed widening, and we would urge you to sign the enclosed petition and send same to us if you desire to prevent what seems to us a useless hardship upon property owners on Halsted Street.

Respectfully yours,

Adler & Lederer [signed]
