Miss Mabel [Hall] has studied with me for nearly a year and has made -- I dare say -- wonderful progresses. She has a powerful and at the same time a very sweet soprano voice, and does work with great seriousness. I hope she will -- going on with her studies long enough -- become a very good [page 2] artiste and make a very successful stage [career] as a dramatic singer.
