Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Ills.

Dear Miss Addams:

I have written Mrs. Blaine asking for a [renewal] of her $1000. We have gotten along splendidly thus far, [but?] the outlook for this month is triste indeed unless we [can?] get a renewal of this contribution. I know you will help us, [will?] you not? If you could induce her to sign the check before [July?] first it would be of the greatest help to us, otherwise [we?] shall be without money for salaries. The work has gone [splendidly] and grown tremendously, and is more than ever worth [doing?]

Cordially yours,

Oswald Garrison Villard [signed]
