Miss Jane Addams:
Head of Hull House
Chicago, Ill

My dear Miss Addams: --

In a letter from Mr. Wm. C. Redfield, President of this Society, he asks me to notify you of your appointment on a committee to cooperate with the assistant secretary -- Miss Cleo Murtland -- in formulating and carrying out plans for the work of this Society as related to girls and women. This committee is composed of the following persons:

Miss Jane Addams
Miss Virginia Potter
Miss Florence M. Marshall
Mrs. H. Ollesheimer
Miss I. E. Lord
Mrs. Mary S Woolman
Mr. V. Everit Macy
Prof. C. R. Richards
Mr. C. A. Prosser

with Miss Murtland, acting as Secretary to this Committee. The first meeting of the Committee will be held in the office of the Society, Friday, October third, at 4:30 P.M.

I regret the lateness of this notification but word was not received from Mr. Redfield until today. I earnestly hope that you will serve on this Committee, for much is to be done, and the women and men are ready to cooperate in constructive work for practical education of the girls and women if the committee will show the way.

Sincerely yours,

Secretary
