I felt quite homesick when I came back and found that your long anticipated visit was over. We are very grateful for your help on the Truancy Conference [although] I find myself a little jealous of it. You will certainly let us pay your expenses from Rochester and back. I wish the [enclosed] check were also paying you for the fine speech [page 2] you made.
Our Washington trip was very satisfactory and the Cincinnati meeting was considered a great success. Senator Beveridge had certainly convinced the N.Y. people.
The Syrians still do not hear from the little girl save that one telegram that she was in the hospital waiting a final diagnosis. Could one of your household telephone and find out about her? Always affectionately yours Jane Addams
