Miss Jane Addams

Dear Madam:

Writer is a great admirer of the good you have done & do do for humanity, but I am greatly surprised of the stand you take in forcing on the American people a man like Roosevelt

Many of my friends cannot understand you & as I see in the Daily News of y'day the same sentiments I enclose it.

Remember also Roosevelt -- the man of the Iron heart -- refused as Governor to intervene in the electrocution of the first woman ever put to death in N.Y. state.

Who ever knows the pangs of an ill-treated stepmother had his heart bleeding for her.

Very Respectfully
