Biographical Text

Minnie F. Low was a social worker and head of the Bureau of Personal Services. She began her career working for Hannah Solomon, a leader within the National Council of Jewish Women. In 1893, Low founded the Maxwell Street Settlement for Jewish immigrants with the help of Jane Addams. In 1897 she helped found the Women's Loan Association. In 1914, Low was elected president of the National Conference of Jewish Charities.

Low died in 1922.
