My dear Mrs. Blaine: --

Thank you very much indeed for your generous check of $100 for our outing fund. I wish you could see the children it will make happy.

I am quite mortified that this circular letter was sent you. It was not our intention to ask help for this fund from those friends who have already done much for the House, but through some oversight the letters were sent out without first consulting our list of annual subscribers.
