"FELLOWSHIP OF FAITHS"

by

Alfred W. Martin

A Brief Description of the Book by Charles F. Weller and Kedar Kath Das Gupta, Executives of the League of Neighbors and Union of East and West, under whose auspices the book is being published to be sold for the benefit of their Fellowship of Faiths.

Through many years of reverent scholarship, Doctor Martin has gathered the inspired wisdom of the world's greatest religious leaders -- Egyptian, Hindu, Persian, Buddhist, Chinese, Mohammedan, Roman, Greek, Jewish and Christian.

Here we have the highest aspiration, the broadest-reaching philosophy, the most enlightened dictates of conscience, the most faithful records of God's word that have yet come to responsive human souls.

The universal fundamentals of all great faiths are here clarified and emphasized. The reader finds encouragement and strength in the knowledge that the most highly illuminated souls of all ages and of all climes have agreed in preaching the practicability of the most exalted ideals.

On each of the following topics, Doctor Martin has selected brief and beautiful expressions of the best thought of all times and of all creeds. Comparatively few words are used but the reader appreciates the fact that here is gathered the ripe inspired wisdom of the ages on the themes of

Brotherhood, Character-Building, Practical Religion (True Worship), Work, Sincerity, Integrity, Justice, Unselfishness, Humility, Self-dependence, The Superior Man, Wealth, Adversity, Good for Evil, Humaneness, Friendship, Love, The Purity of Truth, Control of Tongue, Tolerance, Catholicity or The Fraternity of Religions, The Test of Life, The Commonwealth of Man, The Ten Commandments of Judaism, Buddhis Beatitudes, Christian Beatitudes, The Divine Nature-God, Through Nature to God, Death and Immortality, Prayers.

On each of these topics the contributions of the world's great faiths are gathered together, the teaching of each religion summarized in a brief classic paragraph.

This method of presentation is exemplified in the two marked sections of the enclosed printed folder, entitled Fellowship of Faiths MESSAGES.
