Thanksgiving Day

My Dear Miss Addams,

Thank you so much for the book. You've painted a lurid picture, and the night I spent at Hull House recently would enable me to add a few strokes. Their high excited voices swept by like a dream of Dante's. At two o'clock I heard a gang running and shouting "We've got her, we've got her. Where'll we take her to. This way! This way I know a place."

As for your remedies, dear Miss Addams, I am afraid you and Miss Bowen do not, in some ways, speak the same language that I speak. Ever very faithfully yrs

Frances C Lillie
