Dec. 7 1910.

Dear Miss Addams:

I want to think you most cordially for the copy of your new book. It is one of the most charming, as well as one of the most appealing and enlightened human interest stories that I have ever read. It ought to appeal to the pride and patriotism of everybody, especially Chicagoans. It certainly is a story of what has been best and most significant in these twenty years in this community. You have performed a personal as well as a patriotic service for us all and I want to both congratulate and thank you.

Yours very truly,

S.C. Kingsley [signed]

Miss Jane Addams,
