My dear Alice

Your letter with Marcet's address came yesterday. I may not stop in New York on the way home but am still glad to have it of course. The weather has been perfectly gorgeous and the invalid is improving so fast that I expect to take her back [page 2] to Chicago Nov 1st absolutely restored. We expected to have the house alone, but Mrs Bowen has stayed on much to our pleasure. The book moves on rather slowly, but the little new one will be out in a day or two. I hope your copy will reach you promptly and that you will like it. [Illegible] the clippings, just nuisance!

Always your loving sister J.A.
