My dear Miss Addams
It was a very great shock to us to hear this morning, from Miss Henry, that dear Mrs Pelham's enterprising, active life was ended -- that her genial, friendly spirit has altogether passed away, I cannot believe!
But knowing what a great personal loss you must be feeling, and how severely the cause at Hull House has suffered by her departure, we want to send our united and very tender sympathy to you!
If any form of memorial is undertaken we should like the privilege of contributing; and if a photograph of our dear old friend is available we [page 2] would very much like to buy one.
I am writing in haste to catch the mail and amidst the distractions of unexpected visitors to my patient -- and therefore I cannot find words, either to express our affection for dear Mrs Pelham, or to tell you how profoundly grateful we are to you for your share in the overwhelming token of appreciation of our dear Ken, which came in "Round Robin" form the other day. Indeed, I fear I am scarcely coherent, and have no right to engage your valuable time any further.

Ken is just about holding his own -- I wish I could say he is gaining strength!
