My dear Alice
I have been writing on Twenty Years at H. H. and hope to finish it in Sept or Oct.
I constantly need to refer to my clippings which are in such confusion that they are of no use to me.
I have just remembered that you were always very [page 2] much interested in them, and I wonder whether you would care to sort them over -- either in years or subjects -- if I should have them all boxed and sent on to you. I wouldn't need them until November when I make my final review of the book. If you would care to do it, will you let me know at [page 3] once either by letter or telegram, as I expect to leave for Bar Harbor Sept 3d -- If you don't care to undertake it, I shall of course understand, and if you do, may I send you a little plan I have in mind? With love to Marcet
Always your loving sister
