Hotel de Pekin -- Room 502

Dear Miss [Addams]

Thos. Cook disarranged my mind and all my plans by telling me that we had to leave here Wednesday afternoon, instead of Friday as I had all along understood -- and now we revert to Friday again -- hence my enquiry if you and [Miss] Smith would lunch with me on Wednesday next, becomes the query if you can [page 2] both dine with me on Wednesday evening, when Mrs. Calhoun and Miss Carrère can also come.

I want so much to have several words with you while you are out here, and this will be the best chance for a talk.

Sincerely Yrs

Eliza R. Scidmore

Sunday morning.
