My dear Miss Addams:--

I have pleasure in sending you today with our compliments a copy of "Races and Immigrants in America" by Professor John R. Commons of Wisconsin University. This work deals with a subject in which I know you are interested, and I trust that you will find something of value in it.

May I suggest that we are greatly interested in the possibility that you may have a new book ready for publication before long? We were much gratified, as I am sure you must have been, at the reception accorded to "Newer Ideals of Peace". May I not hope that as soon as your plans for your next book begin to take shape, you will be so kind as to let me know what the work is to be?

Yours very truly,

Edward C. Marsh [signed]
