My dear Mr. Simons: --

I have delayed replying to your letter until the book should come. It has just arrived but only the day before I am starting for the South where, between speaking and a short sojourn with a friend, I shall be away for three weeks. I shall try to tackle the book on my return.

It was very nice to hear from you again and I hope very much that we shall see Mrs. Simons and yourself at Hull-House now that you are once more in this vicinity.

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

Mr. A. M. Simons,
