My dear Miss Addams:

I am very happy to hear through Mrs. McCulloch that you will deliver our Commencement address this year. I have asked you to do this because, as you know, this Commencement marks the seventy-fifth anniversary made during the spring to arouse the alumnae and former students of the college to the significance of this anniversary, so that I expect a large gathering at Commencement.

The Commencement exercises, as you know, begin on Wednesday, June 14, at 10:30. The alumnae banquet is held at 6:30 Tuesday evening preceding these exercises. I hope it will be possible for you to be present at this function as special plans will no doubt be worked out by the alumnae to make this an interesting and inspiring celebration of the alumnae themselves.

I know that you are keeping in touch with the college and are aware the great progress it is making and the many reasons why all our friends should rejoice with us at this time.
