My dear Mrs. Blaine:-
At a meeting of the National Child Labor Committee held in Chicago last January, the undersigned were asked to organize an Illinois Child Labor Committee similar to those found in many other states. It has seemed wisest to form such a committee from representatives of the Illinois Consumers League which has for many years been interested in securing Child Labor legislation, and from the people who formed the local committee in connection with the meeting of the National Child Labor Committee. Will you kindly allow your name to be used in this connection and attend at least one meeting to be called at an early date?
