My dear Mrs Rich --

Thank you so much for your letter & explanation of the W. City Club book. It seems to be coming out very well in spite of the [vicissitudes].

I should like so much to have Miss [Fredeland?] stay. It will be quite possible if we put two people in Alice Hamilton's room or if a woman takes Mde Lomonosoff's room. I should think that it would be quite safe to count her in & I hope very much that it may be arranged.

We drove up here yesterday from Denver -- a long four hours motor trip. Mary Smith stood the journey so [page 2] well that we have been in high spirits ever since -- she was tired of course and we mean to be very cautious still.

It looks now as if I wouldn't be back in Chicago until Sept 22d -- a long time and I hope it won't seem like an imposition upon your kindness.

Perhaps you can help start Miss [Jennison] who comes Sept 1st. Mr Byron will of course show her the details but her general position may at first seem a little difficult to her.

I am doing some writing and am feeling quite rested and restored. Please give my love to the household. It seems like one of the best summers we have ever had. Always devotedly yours

Jane Addams
