My dear Miss Addams --

I shall take pleasure in reading "The Chicago Settlements and Social Unrest."

No explanation is ever required of any position taken by Hull House. What it [page 2] has done to clear social crises makes it a too important factor ever to be put in the light of criticism.

It deserves only the highest commendation and support of the city so fortunate to possess it.

I am truly sorry to be of so little [page 3] assistance in a movement that has my full confidence.

Believe me with affectionate regard --

Nellie Butler Linn
