My dear Mr. Baker:

May I thank you for the copy of your book which you sent me and which I have read to my great edification not to say pleasure. How I wish that it might all have been said concurrently with the events because much of the misunderstanding was far from [willful].

Will you not let me know the next time you are in Chicago. I have a lot of English material of "The Feed the Famine" which I should like very much to show you.

With cordial greeting to Mrs. Baker, I am

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
