Dear Miss Addams:-

Can you write a little article for us now, or within the next three or four months? It need not be more than 3000 words in length, and we shall be glad to pay you $100 for it .

For a subject I suggest the immigrant population of such a town as Chicago, & the Training & Social [page 2] service, explained by noteworthy [instances]. Thousands of our readers in the agricultural states are ignorant of social services, and they might not only be interested, but also inspired by what you could write on that topic.

I am, dear Miss Addams,

[Yours] Faithfully,

William H. Rideing.

To Miss Jane Addams.
