Dear Mrs. Taussig:

Miss Addams has asked me to tell you how very sorry she is that at this time of rejoicing you should have lost your father. I am sorry.

The news is wonderful, isn't it? It may well be that Miss Addams will leave earlier than she had expected and even that it may be necessary to call the meeting of the thirty-five very soon. At any rate, so far as we can see now, the Board meeting will be in New York on the 23d, at Mrs. Leach's house. I hope you can go east with Miss Addams. I know she would enjoy it.

Very sincerely yours,

Eleanor Daggett Karsten [signed]
