Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
800 South Halsted Street,
Chicago, Ill.

My dear Miss Addams:

I was very glad indeed upon my return to Washington today to find your reconstruction article on my desk. It is exactly what we want. I think that you have done a wonderful piece of work and that it will be a great help to us. My first thought was that your article was too long, but as I read through it I became so engrossed that I decided to release the manuscript without any cutting whatever.

Thanking you for your patriotic cooperation, I am

Cordially yours,

Labert St. Clair. [signed]
