My dear Miss Culver:

Thank you so much for the check for one thousand dollars which I received this morning and sent on to Miss Wald, in New York, the Treasurer of this special fund for the Congress After the War of the International Committee of Women for Permanent Peace. I am enclosing a copy of the material we are just sending out to the thirty-five women who have been long planning to go to the Congress. It looks as if the time were near although, of course, we may easily find it difficult to get passports.

I am coming out to see you very soon. The influenza epidemic upset all our plans. Will you please tell Mrs. Peck that her contribution was put into the last item which should have read "Members [page 2] of the Woman's Peace Party and Others."

With deep appreciation of your generosity to this Congress of ours, I am,

Affectionately yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
