THE WOMAN’S PEACE PARTY
THE SECTION FOR THE UNITED STATES OF
THE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF WOMEN FOR PERMANENT PEACE

NATIONAL OFFICE
ROOM 500, 116 S. MICHIGAN AVE.
CHICAGO

4 December, 1917.

My dear Miss Addams, --

Enclosed please find the Auditor’s statement concerning our report. In connection with this statement, I should like to call your attention to the fact that this statement covers the calendar year from December 1, 1916 to November 30, 1917. In order that the members of the Peace Party may know under what conditions they will start the next fiscal year, the sum of $150 should be subtracted from the total here noted to cover the expenses for December 1917. That covers the salary, of the Executive Secretary, of $62.50 a month, rent and light $15.50, clerical services, printing, postage, etc. From the remainder will have to be deducted also the share in expenses of the Annual Meeting which the National Party meets. Deducting these amounts, however, there will still be a considerable balance towards the work of 1918. In addition to the balance here indicated should be counted the $500 of Mrs. Crane’s pledge for this year and possibly a few small amounts pledged in Washington and not collected yet. Mrs. Post will be able to give you later information on the subject of these pledges.

Faithfully yours,

S. P. Breckinridge [signed by secretary]

Miss Jane Addams,
Philadelphia.
