My dear Myra,

I am sending the birthday check instead of waiting for the bills, [although] if they turn out to be more, you must let me know.

I do hope you have escaped the measles and are safely back upon the ranch. You have had a [page 2] hard time and no mistake -- I hope you will feel that you can keep the new German woman for a month or two until your invalided family is [fairly restored].
