My dear Marcet

I have been knitting you a baby blanket and thinking about you a great deal of the time -- sometimes anxious to know that you go to the doctor often enough and that all goes well with you. Do write me and let me know.

Perhaps I will send a little Xmas box early before the mails are so crowded but you must keep it unopened until Xmas [comes,] [page 2] will you be at Cedarville as early as that -- please write me as to that too! I am getting to be the querulous old aunt apparently.

Dr Herrick is going to let me go to Washington to the annual meeting of our Woman's Peace Party and a conference following it. I am quite excited to be allowed such an adventurous journey into the world.

With love to both of you always your loving aunt Jane Addams

P.S.
What is the state of the family name?
