JANE ADDAMS THINKS
APPEAL FROM GERMAN
WOMEN IS SINCERE

(By the International News Service.)

Chicago, Nov. 15. -- Jane Addams interviewed here today, opposed the idea that the wireless messages addressed by certain German women to Mrs. Woodrow Wilson and herself are part of a German propaganda plan.

"I know Mrs. [Augspurg] perfectly well," she said, "and while I have not received the message as yet, I do not think these women would lend themselves to any propaganda.

"[Gertrud Bäumer] is one of the best known women in Germany and she edited a German woman's paper. She is not a pacifist.

"Miss [Heymann] and Mrs. [Augspurg] were delegates to the peace conference at the Hague.

"These are all women of character."

Miss Addams declined to say what action she will take in the matter of the message.
