My dear Miss Wald: --
The plans for Miss Shelly have quite changed but she is going to New York "on her own hook" as it were a scheme which may have its possibilities; at any rate, I have asked her to tell you about it but please have her stay with you or not entirely as seems best. She is perhaps more devoted than wise, but devoted she certainly is and sometimes her wild plans come out extremely well.
Marcet's wedding has been moved to June first. Mary is going out with me but we will come back that day and are eager to hear your plans in regard to Chicago.
