My dear Dr. Parsons:

We have received your letter to Miss Addams and must reply that she is very ill in the hospital and is unable to care for any correspondence, and obviously could not take up any activity as you suggest.

I do not believe that any influence other than Diplomatic advice would influence the President in the case of the Ancona or National affairs at present.

We do not in any sense fear the invasion of Canada or civil strife in our own country.

Sincerely yours,

Assistant Secretary.

Dr. C. E. Parsons,
840 Cass Avenue,
Detroit, Michigan.
