Biographical Text

Reverend James McClure attended Yale University and Princeton Seminary, graduating in 1873. He then preached around Albany before becoming the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, Illinois. McClure was also president of Lake Forest College and a founding president of the McCormick Theological Seminary.

McClure married Phoebe Ann in 1880. They had five children. McClure died in 1923.
