Dear Miss Addams,

You are so busy with "interviews" that I would not for the world take up your time, save by this note.

I am one of the "Quaker" members of the Executive Committee, and naturally go much further than some in feeling that this war is no exception to the principle that "all war is contrary to the mind of Christ". The devil's weapons when once taken up cannot be used without soiling the hand of the user.

I do pray that tonight we may be lifted up into the higher realm of faith in God and faith in man as the only means of killing this thing.

You will indeed have the prayers of "The Fellowship of Reconciliation" which meets for an all-day sitting today -- not only for tonight, but for your work in the grand attempt to influence the rulers on behalf of the helpless peoples -- murdered -- and worse still -- inflamed to passion for causes not their own and which they do not even understand.

yours very sincerely,

Theodora Wilson Wilson [signed]
