My dear Miss Addams,

I was unable to see you while in Washington because I was confined to the house with a baby boy born Dec. 11 -- Philander P. Claxton Jr -- but now I wish [page 2] to tell you of my deep interest in the Peace Party and personally and officially want to assist in its work; as the wife of the U.S. Commissioner of Education I could help I think and as President of the League of American Pen Women (headquarters [page 3] in Washington) I want to help:- Please let me know some of your activities. With high regard from Dr. Claxton and myself

I am, Cordially
