Biographical Text

Laura Brayton was a teacher who trained at the University of Chicago and worked at the Skinner School and other public schools. While there, she met Ella Flagg Young and resigned from teaching to serve as Young's secretary. Brayton was involved in the Chicago Woman's Club, the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and the Chicago Historical Society.

Brayton died in 1935 after a long illness.
