Dear Miss Addams,

Permit me to congratulate you on your speech at Chicago before The Republican convention. [page 2] Personally I feel you did at one stroke the most important and far reaching thing that has yet been done for one cause.

While I differ with you in political opinion, I respect [page 3] you all the more for having the courage of your convictions as an individual.

May you long continue to benefit humanity.
