Chicago, Illinois.
My dear Miss Addams: --
On account of my absence <from> Lake Geneva, I did not receive your letter of Wednesday last until yesterday. While I am not in sympathy with the new Third party, I can see no reason why you should not take part in its Convention, if you choose to. Of course, I will be glad to see you at any time. I cannot see how your action in this manner can do any harm to the best interests of Hull House. I congratulate the Convention on having two such good representatives as Mrs. Wilmarth and yourself. I do not think you need have any misgivings about the part you are to take in the movement.
Yours very truly,
C. L. Hutchinson [signed]
