NEW YORK CITY, January 18th, 1904.

Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Ill.

Dear Miss Addams:-

I have received Mr. McCormick's acceptance, and I am glad to know that Mrs. Emmons Blaine will allow the use of her name. It will do no harm to have two names from the same family. In affixing the signature, however, it will be well for us to use her own initials rather than the Christian name of her husband, and I beg that you will kindly send me this at your earliest convenience.

Thanking you sincerely for your cooperation, which we deeply value, I am,

Faithfully yours,

Edgar Gardner Murphy. [signed]
