Alice Browne Frame to Jane Addams, May 19, 1923

May 19, 1923.

My dear Miss Addams,

I find a telephone message from Mrs. Woods, asking whether it would be all right to change your engagement to speak to our college girls from Friday to Thursday, May 24. It certainly will be, so we will look for you and Miss Smith at eleven, shall we, on that day?

I returned from calling on you to discover my family quite wrathful because I had not secured a definite promise and a date for you both to dine with us, and meet some of our college girls. We thought you would like to meet informally some of the young women here, and find out what they are thinking about. Would you care to set a date, either May 23, 24, 25, 26, or June 1 or 2? It would give us so much pleasure, and it would mean so much to these girls to come in touch with you.

Sincerely yours,

(Mrs. M. S.) Alice B. Frame [signed]
