LONG'S PEAK INN

LONGS PEAK, COLORADO

My dear Marcet

I saw some "apricot wool" the day in the village. It looked so yellow that I could ↑not↓ resist the temptation of buying it for Alice. I knitted it during Mr Mills' lectures and is therefore full of mistakes -- it will do to [work?] in under her coat! and I send it with my best love.

I suspect that in spite of the cold weather here we have no notion how hot you are in Kansas. [page 2]

Do write me a word about Manuel's plans, I don't even get the Appeal out here. Don't wait for time for a long letter but send me at least a cryptic postal card.

Mary Smith sends her love to the family as does your devoted Aunt
