THE AUGUSTA HOUSE
AUGUSTA, MAINE
Jan. 23d '07
Beloved Lady
I read the Newer Ideals of Peace, all day yesterday, on the train coming hither. It is noble and wise and parts of it are very beautiful.
It comes just at the fortunate moment, when the Fabians are turning their backs on democracy, and the orthodox socialists are neglecting the essential truths to preach race and class hatred.
I'm coming to Chi. for the N. A. W. Suffrage meeting. [page 2] Of course, I'm coming to H.–H. But I'm well and hearty once more, and have no possible excuse for occupying your room. So please let me have what we used to call the sleeping car on the third floor, or anything else that cames handy.
I'm longing to discuss the Ideals with you!
Your loving old
F. K.
