My dear Miss Addams:
It is pleasant to hear from you personally and to have you suggest that you are interested in the National Capital number of "Charities and the Commons".
We all regret greatly that you can not come to help us in the Playground movement. We are grateful however for your suggestion of Miss McDowell and I am writing to see if she can come at the time our meetings are to be held.
Will you not kindly undertake to let me know whenever you are coming East? Whenever you are willing to speak in Washington we can get up a large audience for you and we should be glad to guarantee at least Fifty Dollars ($50.00) towards your expenses. Please do not ever forget us when you come this way.
I am reading your articles in the Ladies' Home Journal with very great interest. Your work is a constant inspiration and source of definite, practical suggestions for all of us.
Sincerely yours,
