I am sending you copy of a letter which I received Saturday from Mrs Hull. Fortunately, Mrs Lucy Biddle Lewis was in Chicago and we have been able to explain to her the situation in reference to the evening meeting, at which we hope Mr Angell will speak, and have asked Mrs Hull to write directly to Mr Angell and try and arrange the meeting under the auspices of some society not distinctively a peace organization.
I am sending you, at Miss Addams request, a letter which came from the American Union against Militarism, in reference to their change of name. Would you kindly return it to the office.
We have received your statement from the Executive Board of the Woman's Peace Party, to be read at the annual meeting. Miss Addams wishes me to ask whether this was to be printed and distributed before the meeting.
The long statement from the board is now in the hands of the printer and we hope to have it out soon. If the statement which you have sent me is also to be distributed to the members, it ought to go at the same time, and in that case I will hurry it to the press.
I am enclosing copy of the tentative program which we planned at the meeting at Lake Geneva.
