My dear Mr. Ely:

I find it necessary to make my plans for the summer quite definitely and should be glad to know the exact dates when I am expected at Madison. As I understand it, ↑my↓ time runs from the last of June to the first of August but I should be glad to know more definitely than that.

I am going to try to stay at Madison for much of the time as I really believe that I can finish the book. Thanking you for your kindness in the matter, I am
