Jane Addams to Julia Grace Wales, October 22, 1915

October 22, 1915

My dear Miss Wales: --

I have been expecting Miss [Macmillan] every day from California and have kept the National Argument to give to her thinking that the British Committee would be more apt to use it than the Union of Democratic Control which Mr. Norman Angell represents.

I think that the plan which you outline would be very useful, and I will write you as soon as I hear from Miss [Macmillan] as to the fate of the National Argument.

I hope the Manifesto was in the Madison papers. I am sending you several copies which you may care to have. Dr. David Starr Jordan lunched here yesterday and said that he would see you in Madison. We are very pleased that he is to be received by the President; he will be a good advocate.

We are to have a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Woman's Peace Party on Friday the 29th and perhaps you could come then! May I write you again about it.

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams. [signed]
