My dear Mr. Burtt:

Thank you very much for the letter that you sent us from the Supreme Chief of the Pythian Sisters. We have now also received the original letter sent to Miss Addams and have replied to Mrs. Davis.

We shall be glad to send a copy to Mr. Holt as you suggest.

You must think us very slow in getting out the letters to the Fraternal organizations but work in connection with the Hague Congress which had to be done at once or not at all kept us so busy that we could not do other work. We shall have them out in a day or two. We are particularly glad to have this letter from the Chief of so important a fraternity.

I am sending you a leaflet giving the names of the Executive Council of the Woman's Peace Party and a leaflet giving the names of the Executive Committee of the Emergency Peace Federation. These names are, I think, correct.

We have just had an interesting reply by Mrs. Mead to the pamphlet of Charles J. Bonaparte "Preparedness for War and National Duty". We will try to get more of the paper in which [page 2] this was published and shall be glad to send you a copy if you would like one.

We have also been sending to the press today, Mrs. Mead's reply to [Colonel] Roosevelt's letter.

Thanking you again for your help, I am

Fraternally yours,

Acting Ex. Sec'y.

Mr. Joe Beatty Burtt,
