My dear Mr. Bernheimer:
May I acknowledge for Miss Addams the paper and plan that reached here a few days before she sailed for The Hague?
She was not able to express any opinion in regard to this plan because her time was so fully occupied before she left the city. Not only were there presentations for her journey to be made but many speeches to be given in addition to some personal matters to which she was forced to attend because of the death of her sister. She undoubtedly has a copy of your peace proposal with her.
Sincerely yours,
Acting Ex. Sec'y.
Mr. Charles L. Bernheimer,
Franklin Street & West Broadway,
